Living model correlations and projections

For SaaS businesses there is often clear correlation between headcount/cloud spend and customer count/usage. With enough integrations, Digits would be able to identify patterns like:

  • 1 customer service rep is hired for every 20 new customers
  • A new customer increases cloud spend on DataDog by $xxx/mo
  • Determining actual per-customer or customer usage-based COGS (each customer adds $50 to the AWS XYZ service or $5 in additional customer usage is $0.25 in extra AWS XYZ)
  • CAC

These types of correlations would be amazing if they were automatic, but even if they manually entered, would make for an incredibly useful Living Model that can accurately forecast headcount and COGS increases with expected increases (or decreases) in sales.

 

Additionally, an integration with HubSpot and other CRMs could take the deal pipeline and use it to forecast the expected high/low range of revenue and spend for the coming quarters based on deal size and weighted confidence of closing.

Love this idea @Shaun Would definitely involve a fair bit of work so I can’t promise anything, but this type of approach is definitely a vision we have :)
